A woman walks into the paint department and has a piece of wallpaper that she wants to match a certain color off of. The lady then has to go over and pick a color off of the color cards on the rack. If she cannot find an exact color that she wants then we would use the matching machine. We use this machine by putting the wallpaper over a hole of light and it then tell us how much paint needs to be put in the can. No matter what process we use between the match machine or picking out a color card we must use the tinting machine. Tinting paint an exact color can only be done by the process of using the tinting machine. .
To be able to mix the can of paint by using the machine, you must first make sure that the screen on the tinting machine says ready. If the screen does not then you must press the clear button until it does. The reason for this is because if the machine is not ready, then it will not be able to read the color code off of the color card or the amount of each color of pigment off of the match machine.
The next thing to be done is to type in the color code on the bottom of the color card or press dispenser on the match machine. By typing in the number this gives the machine a readout of how much of each color to put in the can, just as the match machine does the same when you press dispenser. After the machine reads what color you are trying to mix, the screen will then show a four-digit number for what base to use. There are a couple of different bases that could be used depending on the color that the customer wants to be matched. .
After getting the base that you need to mix the color, you put it underneath the machine. The sensors on the machine will pick up that the can is there, and the screen will read please punch can. By punching the can with the cutter, this creates a hole for the colorant to enter the can of paint. After cutting the hole in the can the screen will then read press start.
