             Leonardo Da Vinci was one of the greatest creative geniuses ever known to man and was centuries ahead of his time. Who is Vand how, why, were, and when did he become such a legendary hero for all of mankind?              Da Vinci was a painter, sculptor, architect, engineer, inventor, and scientist during his time. His achievements were far beyond that of anyone of his time. Born in the village of Vinci between Empoli and Pistola, leonardo was raised and taught as a boy by his father. As his developing talents came forward, he was sent to study with the sculpter, painter, and goldsmith Andrea Verrocchio. Of all Renaissance artists Leonardo was one of the most enjoyed throughout the world. He was attracted to all forms of nature, which he used in his works. Although Leonardo was known as anengineer , inventer, scientist, and astronomist, he was most popularly known as a painter. "Perfectly prportionaed, compared with ordinary specimens of humanity, he seemed to embody its ideal. Clarity and acuity of vision depend more particularly on the intellect, and a clear intelligence characterized him. He never gave way to the extreme impulses of his own original and incomparable talent, but kept every spontaneous and casual transport under control because he wanted every line to be the result of thorough reflection. From his studies on pure proportions to the extraordinary and contradictory shapes of the most hybrid monsters, everything had to look natural and rational.W.
