Late American History

During America in the twenties lifestyles were very fun and exciting. As we rolled into the next decade of the thirties things started to change drastically. Life in the twenties was very different social, economically, and politically. The era of the twenties was very free. People loved to have a good time and spend money. Which differs drastically from the thirties, you were lucky if you could afford to go dancing or have a drink. Politically things were very different also. In the twenties big business had the upper hand, compared to the thirties when the government took back control. America had its ups and downs and these two years a perfect to explain this.
As America came out of the war, Americans had a lot of pride in their country. With the development of the movie industry and also the automobile, America was beginning to become a very fun place to live in. Socially in America our country was very uplifting, ready for any challenge. Economically our country loved to go out and spend money. Putting tons of money into the stock market on credit or margin. This pushed the big business, as our government believed that business should run the show and hope the trickle down theory would take effect. Unfortunately this didn't work, and as we already know America suffered deeply from all this spending and carelessness. .
As America stepped scarcely into the thirties many things changed tremendously. Our free will spirit as a country was diminishing fast. Our ability to go out and spend like no tomorrow was gone. With the depression hitting Americans hard, the government stepped in trying to take control of the situation. Politically FDR knew that the depression wasn't going to be solved over night. He realized that plans had to be made and started up the New Deal. He helped Americans by starting up programs like the WPA and CCC to employee people who were struggling. The thirties brought more Americans together socially, but unfortunately most blacks and immigrants felt racism very strong during this period in America, denying immigrants and blacks jobs or not paying them as much as a white American male.
