Kings Of Their Time

The price to pay to earn a fortune may be more than that fortune is worth. In every generation there are people that make millions of dollars easy or they make millions hard. The obstacles and opportunities that help make these millionaires are also what make different. In today's society people can make more money than they could have imagined without breaking a sweat but the people that do break sweats are still seen as " having the greatest and easiest lives". This is true in some cases but not in others. Two men that have similar but totally different lives are Larry Flint and Hugh Heffner. Larry Flint is somebody that had to go through difficult times to get to where he is today. Hugh Heffner also had some hard times but he had more of an easy time getting his fortune. .
Larry Flint grew up in a hard family surrounding with his brother (who also works with him now). His career started when he owned his own exotic dance club, which attracted many customers. He met his wife there and lived with her for the rest of her life. Larry wanted to make an adult magazine that would expand his enterprise of adult entertainment. At the same time that he was making this magazine a man named Hugh Heffner was making a similar adult magazine that was considered tasteful. Flint's magazine was protested and banned in many places because of its content. During trials against Flint, he was shot in the spine and has been paralyzed from the waist down ever since. After many times serving in jail for his behavior and articles, he grew to be a very wealthy man and happy with his life, until his wife died. She was suffering from HIV and it took her life and left Flint alone with no companion. The loss of his wife and the ability to walk made this man more ambitious to become a famous icon in society. He did and he is still making magazines and more money that ever.
Hugh Heffner had a fortune coming to him because he was the first to make the adult industry bigger than what it was.
