International Intervention

S. interest. International intervention also causes a state of instability.
When foreign nations need help it isn't unnecessary for America to barge in with military power and take over the situation. As America did in its past, it is important that foreign governments work out their own problems to successfully find a system that meets the needs of the people. Forcing third world countries to take in American values is a form of cultural arrogance. A nation that is a world leader isn't one that takes over the world but rather one that works problems out to reasonable solutions. Foreign policies must never reach the point of ascribing our beliefs and values on other nations. Instead of handing foreign countries our governing system and telling them to make it work it is more- productive to providing economic and financial aid which offers other nations to get started in the right direction, "Our policy is directed not against any county or doctrine but against hunger, poverty, desperation, and chaos. Its purpose should be the revival of a working economy in the world so as to permit the emergence of political and social conditions in which free institutions can exist."(Marshall 574). .
It is important that America takes some action when a foreign country begins to break down politically and helpless people begin to lose their freedoms. Other nations around America affect us directly, "We know too that we cannot save freedom in our own midst, in our own land, if all around us-our neighbor Nations-have lost their freedom I tell the American people solemnly that the United States will never survive as a happy and fertile oasis of liberty surrounded by a cruel desert of dictatorship."(Roosevelt 553) America's foreign policy is a key factor in the continual successes of our existence. A break down in this area would eventually lead to further problems that are more directly related to America.
