History Of The Stock Market

The United States, along with the rest of the world relies heavily on its economy and economic prosperity and benefits. They, as countries, especially rely on the stock market. The stock market, or stock exchanges, are associations of brokers and dealers in securities who transact business together. They facilitate the financing of business through the transfer of investment funds by bringing together the buyers and sellers of stocks and bonds. The stock market and exchange's prosperity, along with failure, dictate's that economy of that country. The economic declines in the years of 1929-30, 1973-74, and 2000 are all somehow or another interrelated to the stock market. The economic depression that beset the United States and other countries in the late 1920's through the early 1930's was unique and informative in its magnitude and it's consequences. The United States stock market crash occurred in October 1929. At the depth of the depression, in 1933, one American worke!.
r in every four was out of a job. In other countries unemployment ranged between 15% and 25% of the labor force. Despite the seeming business boom, prosperity and gain, of the 1920's, however, there were serious economic weak spots that led to an economic decline. A chief and main one being a depression in the agricultural sector. This occurred in the agricultural sector due to drought and harsh winters that plagued the Midwest along with rest of the world. Such countries that faced these harsh weather conditions were Germany, Czechoslovakia (Present day Czech Republic), Poland, and the Balkan states. These bone-chilling winters that hit these, along with other European countries, crippled many industries like those of coal mining, railroads, and textiles. This hindering of the industrial sector lead to an economic decline because it shut down transportation means and ways and if something of this nature occurs there is no way to export products made by that country therefore no profit can be gained.
