The United Way of Greenwich is a non-profit organization that raises money to improve town services and conditions. A recent study that the organization conducted showed that there are two major concerns facing the town of Greenwich. One of those concerns, not surpisingly, being teen recreational activities. .
My business proposal is a teen night club in Greenwich. Of course my first choice for starting this business would be a sole proprietorship. The main reasons for this choice are simple, more profit and total control. However in order to "do it myself" I would need a large amount of capitol to start (which I don't have). Also, if for some reason my business were to fail the loss of time and money would be devastating. Therefore, I have decided to go with a more reasonable method, a Limited Partnership. As I mentioned before the United Way raises money for the town and invests it in what is needed most. In recent years, early childcare was an issue and was successfully addressed by the development of childcare center. The issue of teen recreation is a little more difficult, where should the money be invested? The Town of Greenwich has discussed, for many years, building a skate park. It certainly is a step in improving teen activities but what teens does it actually appeal to, !.
the ten percent or less that enjoy skating? On the other hand, although opinionated, I can estimate that no less then a hundred percent of teens enjoy music. My point is that the money should be invested into something that is actually going to have a major impact on the options all teens have not just some teens. I feel that by spending my teen years in Greenwich I can relate to the wants of future teens and I feel I have a respectable opinion on what activities may prove successful. .
The partnership may be beneficial to both parties. I myself being the general partner would still take the risk of losing time and money invested by me, however the bulk of money would be provided by the United Way of Greenwich.
