             As we approach the millenium the workforce is flourishing. In this new age era people would like the think that the hiring, and promotional processes within the workplace are fair as well as inparcial; however, there does still exist road blocks for a few groups. The glass ceiling is a very subtle way in which businesses, and employers have been legally discriminating against certain individuals. Although invisible, many women, and minorities remain blocked from higher positions within their careers as a result of the glass ceiling. .
             Some, must first be a casualty of this form of discrimination before fully being able to understand it. A report called Good for Business: Making Full Use of the Nation's Human Capital concluded that, "a serious problem exist within business that prevents highly educated and qualified women, and people of color from reaching their potential in leadership positions with corporations. It is said that the glass ceiling is experienced in various ways for women and people of color depending on their gender, race, ethnicity an nation origin, and that it effectively results in the under-utilization of talent, skill and education of some of this nations finest workers".              The glass ceiling is defined as a form of discrimination, because it keeps individuals from obtaining their aspirations, along with the fact that other individuals are behind it. The glass ceiling is an invisible obstacle by which women and minorities are kept from entering into the golden world of corporate recognition. The significant thing to understand about this form of discrimination is that it can rarely be proven to have actually taken place. Whenever someone has been held back due to the glass ceiling they find that there is always a documented explanation validating their non-promotion, although what's on paper is not always as it appears.
