The Black children's faces hold an innocence causing the viewer to ask the question, " How could these innocent children be a threat to the White World?" In another picture, Rockwell exhibits the innocence of the Black children and the cruelty of the White people. In The Problem We All Live With (Finch) Rockwell paints a small black girl carrying her books to while US marshals escort her to school. Behind the little girl lays of wall displaying words such as nigger and KKK. The wall also carries a tomato imprint on the wall making the viewer believe that a person threw a tomato at the girl. Through the images appearing on the wall, Rockwell portrays the spitefulness of White people toward the little girl and an indirect way of displaying prejudice. A mixture of innocence, confusion, and bravery form her expression and she does not understand the why this event is happening to her. Rockwell created both the paintings during the 1960's during the Civil Right Act. He paints normal scenes such as moving into a new house and walking to school to communicate his anti-bigotry views. As seen in many of his paintings, Rockwell's fundamental message for creating a model America is equality for all. .
             The Four Freedoms, a series inspired by President Roosevelt. The series contained 4 paintings each representing a different freedom. He used these paintings to help promote the war cause and he eventually raised 150 million dollars for the American army. Many did not understand why the US involved itself in the war in Europe but these four paintings helped bring the war closer to home and American related to the war better. In he painting Freedom from Want, Rockwell cleverly creates an image of a family sitting down to Thanksgiving dinner to show the relief from hunger and loneliness. Through the use of the light from the window and the arrangement of the glasses, one's eyes rests on the turkey, which the eldest woman in the picture carries (Georgeson).
