French Riviera Overview

 

            The French Riviera is part a larger region, the Riviera, which consists of a narrow coastal strip extending thru southern Europe to the Mediterranean Sea and to Italy. It is a very well known place for being a winter resort. Communities on the French Riviera, also called the Cate d'Azur (Azure Coast), include Saint Tropez, Antibes, Cannes, Nice, Menton, and Monte Carlo.
             Nice is one of the most notable communities in the region. It is very well known for its beaches and vacation spots. It is also France's fifth largest city. It is the dedicated location for a three-week carnival held in February, called the Batailles des Fleurs (Battle of Flowers). It is also a very scenic area including the famous Baie des Anges (Bay of Angels). Due to the joyful setting, Nice is home to the second busiest airport in France.
             When an adult hears of the name Monte Carlo, more than likely, gambling comes into their mind. Monte Carlo is home to gambling in France. Monte Carlo one of the leading tourist resorts in Europe with a soaring economy. This perfect paradise resides in an awesome setting between mountain and sea gives this community a heavenly look, along with the expensive commodities within it.
