Impression Gone Bad

People like to impress friends, dates or family members. It's human nature to do so; it makes them feel good. However, sometimes those impressions go awful. Maybe there was an unintentional accident, or the person trying to impress was just trying too hard. That was the case for me; I really liked this girl from my school, and so I really wanted to impress her. My friend Jimmy set me up for a date with her to go to the movies. I really wanted the date to go very well, so I asked my dad if I could use the Corvette. I was hoping I could get the car because it would have been very impressive for my date. The Corvette was a convertible, had leather seats, and an awesome sound system. His decision was no, and so I was furious. Instead, I borrowed my brother's old 1989 Honda Accord. The car had no air conditioner, was leaking oil, but I settled for the Honda. I got ready and picked her up, and we headed to the movies. I was nervous along the trip, but we finally arrived at the movies. We bought the tickets and went inside sat down, and waited for the movie to start. I asked her if she wanted something to drink, she said "yeah", so I went to go get the drinks at the concession stand. As I was walking on the aisle leading back to my seat, I tripped on someone else's foot and toppled to the ground spilling the one of two drinks that I was carrying. I heard some giggling, so I got up, sat down quickly, and gave her her drink. For the rest of the movie, I was embarrassed. Because the movie finished, it was time to take her home. We got inside the car, we shut our doors, she put on her seat belt, and I did so too. I then put the key in the ignition, turned the key, but the engine wouldn't turnover; I kept trying but it would not start. I was so embarrassed and didn't know what to do, and so we walked back to the theatre where I called my parents and told them what happened. Later on, my parents picked us up, and the car was towed.
