             Structure.
The book of Daniel portrays a deeper faith in God during difficult times, while maintaining high dreams for the future. This book proclaims that evil cannot defeat God's purpose for His righteous followers. Daniel's book is not only inspirational, but when taken to a deeper level, it reveals a lot for the reader to discover. One of the best ways to "dig deeper" into the meaning of the text, is to examine the structure and the other elements within its configuration.
The book of Daniel can be divided in to two major sections. Chapters 1 through 6 are primary descriptive and historical in nature. This narrative section begins with an introduction to setting and history, and continues with God's special blessings towards Daniel and his friends while training under King Nebuchandnezzar. Their continued faithfulness to God was returned in many ways over those three years. The King was very impressed with their ability to understand his visions and dreams, and he held them in high regard. This section continues with a description of the King's dreams, of which the men continually interpreted and they were soon elevated to high positions under the King's reign. Although they served their earthly king, their confidence was in their Godly king.
