It was always my ambition that if I was successful I would try to portray a truthful portrait of African Americans in this country, negative and positive.              In the film, Do The Right Thing, Spike Lee was faced with several issues surrounding the production, the cast, and the script for the film. Spike Lee decided that he would present this film in terms of how life actually exists as opposed to the present positive images of what looks good. He was criticized for the many racial stereotypes presented in the film. I agree with the way Spike Lee made this movie. I believe he crossed a line by showing the reality of a typical way of life and what really happens with the black underclass in this area of New York City. Spike Lee overwhelmingly gave you a good look at the how sex, age, race, work, health, and crime played key roles in the interpretation of the film. .
             What role does a movie like, Do The Right Thing play in affecting my views, other people's views, and our behavior? Well, I can only state my opinion on that subject.
