In 1948, Great Britain recognized the rights of the Jewish people to establish a national Jewish homeland in Palestine. This made Palestinians very angry because they believe that it is their God-given land. Palestine was split into Jordan and Israel. The Declaration of Independence of the modern state of Israel was announced on the day that British troops left Palestine. This day is known as "Al- Nakba" or the Catastrophe to Palestinians. .
Jewish Holy Sites.
The holiest site in Judaism is located in Jerusalem and is called the Western/Wailing Wall or "Haram al-Sharif." This wall is part of a retaining wall of an ancient Jewish temple.
The Temple Mount in East Jerusalem is believed by Jews to be the site of two previous temples in ancient Jerusalem. In Judaism, the Mount is where redemption will take place when the Messiah comes back. .
Islamic Holy Sites.
Dome of the Rock is a holy place in Islam. Islamic tradition believes that Muhammad ascended to heaven here after coming to Jerusalem from Mecca on a winged- horse. .
Another holy Islamic site is the Al-Aqsa mosque that is the third holiest site in Islam. The mosque was the first dedication of prayer.
The Peace Agreement of Israel.
Israelis and Palestinians will live together peacefully and without violence, as there is no hope to splitting land.
There is freedom of religion. No one shall be biased or racist towards anyone based on his or her religion or ancestry. A severe fine will punish this crime.
The government will be headed by a President that is elected to office by the citizens of Israel. .
There will be no violent Acts of Hate towards either side under strict penalties of prison.
Any unsuccessful suicide bombers will be sentenced to hard labor for the remainder of their lives. .
Everyone accused of a crime has a right to a trial with a jury.
Any site that is deemed holy by either Arabs, Jews, or any other religion is to be respected by all.
