The Matrix is a mind boggling movie. Its concept will shock anyone who dares to see it. After viewing this movie, I found myself wondering, "Am I jacked into the Matrix right now?" How would I know any different? Is that the reason for all of the UFO sightings, and Deja-Vu feelings people always get? What if all the miracles and unnatural phenomenon are not really "phenomenon", but glitches in the matrix or misplaced and deleted programs within the matrix? I had feelings of confusion and enlightenment at the same time. Even after watching the credits roll, I did not have a full grasp of the concept of "the Matrix". Though the movie led me to ponder the many ways human lives are actually lived.
There were a couple of scenes that really grabbed my attention. The scene when Mophius and Neo talked for the first time, in the broken down hotel room. Mophius looks really well postured, confident and you cannot see his eyes. He is wearing sunglasses, and all you can see is a refection of Neo, who looked really uncomfortable and unsure of himself. When Neo chooses to take the red pill the camera is focused on Mophius, not Neo, but Neo is reflected in Mophius" glasses. This whole sequence made me feel really uncomfortable for Neo. While watching it several questions came to mind. What the pills will do to him? Will he be able to get away? Is Mophius trying to help Neo? At this point of the film the viewer has no idea what "The Matrix" really is, thus they are unable to predict the future. This causes an immense amount if suspense and excitement for all viewers. .
The second scene I chose was the lobby scene. This scene is a highly memorable because of its explosive action and innovative camera techniques. The scene starts out with Neo and Trinity walking into a heavily guarded building with bags of explosives and a lot of guns. They walk though the metal detector, the guard asked him to remove any metallic objects and he opens his coat to reveal an extensive arsenal of guns.
