Computers and technology are emerging more and more everyday. Privacy has become a big issue, whether people should have their privacy or not. Technology is raising, and people are taking advantage of that, in negative ways. Computer privacy will keep data safe, and keep people from using it. .
Technology has grown from when it first made an appearance in 1995 (Lynch 17). People more and more are accessing the Internet. Technology is making that access to the Internet even easier (Stephens 1). The use of computers and transaction, electronically, are also increasing (Salvatore 105). Although, personal data and how it is handled is a sensitive issue, the Internet has heightened that concern. (Lynch 2). Privacy is sacred. If invasions are not put to a stop, people's secret information can be easily attained.
Privacy started in 1995. People were scared of a governmental attack on the nation's highest technology (Lynch 2). Since the emergence of the privacy issue, computers and transactions usage have greatly increased. People are using computers for everything they do in life (Salvatore 104). People more and more are not only using computers, but they are also accessing the Internet. Technology is making the access and use of computer even easier. It does not take that much to get on the internet or run a computer. Let alone, access people private information and data (Stephens 2). .
Today, people can use the Internet for almost anything. From running a business or researching information, the Internet can be used for almost anything. That could be why the Internet is called the "information super-highway" (Henderson 10). Computers are smart. One positive thing for privacy is whenever you visit a web site; the computer automatically makes a list of the pages you have visited. This is a called a cookie file. (Graham 24). Today, most banking is done online. While not using checks and cash, in the future, all banking will virtually be done online (Stephens 2).
