democracy

I share the opinion of the majority of the world in thinking that democracy is the best form of government. My opinion may be biased since I live in the United States under a democratic government, but I think the presidential system of democracy works the best.
The first reason I give for thinking democracy is best is that we have a chance to vote for what we want to happen. Although this can sometimes be unstable, because of the differences in what the majority wants and what the minority wants, it still gives us the opportunity to voice our opinions and take action to get what we want to happen. We have the power to influence (even if it is only slightly), the way the government is handled. This form of government works well in the United States because there are many different kinds of people and different groups that vote in different ways.
The state of an open society is another reason that I think democracy works well. A society where people can vote and are free to voice opinions and feelings is very beneficial. In an open society there are opportunities to do what you want and try to influence the government on issues that are important.
The rules of enforced laws help to make democracy work. A set government with rules and consequences always helps to prevent chaos. When people are allowed to vote on which laws will go into effect it helps to gain support and respect for those laws. In democracy there are several stages a law must go through before it can be passed and many people have the chance to vote on it and the power is not left in one person's hands. .
Another good part of democracy is the art of compromise. Compromise comes when different groups are put together to come up with one solution. This can be hard sometimes but in my opinion I think is one of the better parts of democracy. This forces people to deal with each other, work together ,and solve problems together.
