WHY IS THE BALANCE BETWEEN RESOURCES AND POPULATION IMPORTANT .
The problem is that the population is increasing and there are not enough resources for all the people of Kenya.
A resource is something that people use for themselves e.g. food and water.
The resources that are important in Kenya are food to eat, water to drink and beautiful scenery, which attracts tourism and makes money for the country. .
Problems caused by inbalance of population to resources:.
1. More demand of crops to feed the people and animals of Kenya leads to overcultivation. Desert is forming in all parts of Kenya. Land becomes less fertile and crops won't grow on the land. Which means fewer crops will be grown causing less food available. People start to starve to death and the death rate goes up.
2. More pollution because of factories with machines instead of workers causes water to get polluted and when people drink it they will get diseases and possibly die. This will lead to death rates rising.
3. Beautiful scenery attracts tourism but the tourists need food so more land is needed. Towns build up around these areas and they start to overcrowd.
Other problems.
Not enough jobs available for people. So some have to share their jobs with others or work part-time for a very low wage. Modern day factories use machines instead of employing people.
Another reason crops can't be grown is because much of the country is semi-desert and rain is unreliable.
Less fertile land also results in fewer goods to export so a lot of money and trade is lost because of this.
What future is held for Kenya if nothing changes?.
The people of Kenya will probably have a massive rebellion against the government. Many people will die of starvation and Kenya will be the same poor country with a skyrocketing population.
What Kenya could do to get a balance by-.
Reducing population: Birth control, not having too many children, having abortions, wearing a condom etc.
