Lenin and his views on Marxism

Having a smaller party would help in preventing information from being leaked and would ensure a certain amount of secrecy within the organization. The party would be called the "Vanguard Party". They would be a group of professional revolutionaries that would be dedicated to social democracy and loyal to Marxism. When the revolution did take place the winner would be the one's most prepared to take advantage of the revolution. .
Another thing Lenin thought needed to be done in order for the proletariat to win the revolution was to unite the working class and the peasants. This alliance needed to be formed in order for the proletariat to win the revolution and have the support of the masses. The bourgeoisie and working class would not be able to work together according to Lenin. Lenin thought that since the proletariat and peasants both suffer at the hands of the Tsar they could unite and try to destroy the Tsar and their use of bureaucratic police and military forces. The alliance between these two social classes would "outweigh all forces of counterrevolution". .
The third contribution that Lenin made to Marxist theory would be the role of imperial capitalism in the world system. Capitalism was sought to create the pre -conditions for socialism and in turn lead to communism. Capitalism was based on the "concentration of production and capital, created monopolies, export of capital and the merging of bank capital with industrial capital." The West needed to go through the stages of Capitalism in order to create the conditions for revolution. The Russian revolution was seen as setting the stage for greater social revolution in the West. An example of this would be the Bolshevik's Principals that were followed by the German's. .
The final contribution that Lenin made to Marxist theory was the idea of state. According to Marx the proletariat needs a state that is about to fade away quickly.
