It had been a couple of hours since I had left the quiet cozy living room. My eyes seemed to be mesmerized by the amazing technology right in front of me. The internet, what a wonderful innovation giving us the ability to chat with friends over seas, while looking up local weather and movie times. Summer was in full effect and my days seemed to be reversed with nights. I spent hours on end chatting up crass conversations with friends, family, and strangers. I had just logged on to Yahoo Messenger, when Laura's apparent instant message appeared on my blank screen. Hey are you there? Yeah, I explained I"m just surfing the net and watching Hey Arnold on Nickelodeon. Hey, what are you doing on Saturday? Laura asked. I thought about it for a while and realized I was only delaying the inevitable because nothing was planned for the weekend. Ohm no I do not have any plans. Well Laura explained, how about we rent a hotel room on South Padre Island and have a massive summer blowout party. As soon as the message appeared, my face grew with excitement. Yeah that would be totally awesome, I really need to get out of this house. While typing out my response to Laura, I noticed three of my other friends had logged on to the internet. Hey Laura, I said lets invite April, Isabel, and Irma to join us and we can split the cost? Almost instantly, I received a message from Laura that exclaimed the excitement in her by an all capitalized instant message. It had only been a few minutes and already all four of us were making plans and discussing them with each other. By this time, it was already to 2:30 am and the conversation was still in full force. Finally, we all decided to call each other later on that day to further chat about the plans for Saturday's big summer party. Right before getting off - line I received the message from April, hey Annette do you know where we can get a cheap keg. I replied no dude sorry, but isn't it somewhat expensive to buy a whole keg just for us.
