While seeking asylum in Switzerland he was re-captured by Drug Enforcement Agency agents in 1973. In 1976 his .

             Timothy Leary's eight-Circuit model of the brain represents the different stages the brain can access.Dr. Leary believed that the central nervous system was made up of eight separate Circuits. Each dealing with a different stage in a person's development. The four active circuits reside in the left lobe, and are associated with terrestrial survival. The four inactive circuits are contained in the right lobe and deal with extra-terrestrial survival and evolution. This is the reason for the dormant right lobe becoming active when psychedelics are ingested. Of the four terrestrial circuits, bio-survival is the first. Evolving about two to three million years ago, the bio-survival circuit is started when a baby is born. It is a spectrum of perception, with safety and comfort at one end, and .
             danger and insecurity at the other. When this imprint is taken it gives a general sense of trust or suspicion. Thereby programming approach to safety and comfort, and avoidance of danger and insecurity. After ingesting an opiate the bio-security circuit becomes activated.
