             From the cradle until the grave fear lives inside of us and we can not escape it. It is born in our personalities, some have a lot of fear and some fear nothing at all.
             As infants one of our first fears is trying to stand up. When you watch a baby try to stand up for the first time you can see the great fear in their eyes. They will first reach for something, grab a hold of it and pull themselves up. They now know what it feels like to stand on their own two feet, they will soon gain the courage to release one of their hands, they will pause and make sure everything is okay until they let go of their other hand. Scared and confused by the new vertical position the baby will begin to sway back and forth and then fall. Startled by what just has happened, the baby will eventually get back up and try again until he has mastered standing up on his own. This is the first example of overcoming a fear.
             For the rest of our lives we are faced with situations that generate fear that we must overcome. I remember being terrified of my first day of high school. I didn't know what to expect. I had to find my way around the new school to seven new classes with people I didn't know. It was something I had to do, there was no way around. It wasn't until about a week after school started that I finally got used to the new situation and they fear went away. .
             Leaving your parents, for instance, is a very frightening circumstance. Leaving home where your protected and cared for is something that you have to do, it is a part of growing up. Learning how to pay your own bills and manage your money can be scary at first, but like all things it something that you must overcome.
             Since we are constantly trying to overcome our inner fears, why is it that we allow the entertainment industry to scare us? It basically just comes down to the fact that we like being scared. Horror movies are always a hit in the box office.
