             On this day called, THE DAY OF MOURNING, the indigenous people of Australia wanted an end to unreasonable treatment by the white settlers. They demanded their blessed lands back and wanted to have the benefit of the same rights as the whites, the wanted aborigines to represent them in the parliament, equal opportunities of employment as everyone else, health, education and housing, acknowledgment of aboriginal law, the elimination of the aboriginal protection board so their lives won't be controlled, and the end of aboriginal children being taken away from their families.

Before he had been the labor premier for Brisbane after that he entered the federal government in 1927. Edward Theodore had a his own solution to the catastrophe. The Theodore plan is when Edward Granville Theodore believed that instead of cutting spending an inflationary policy to encourage the economy to go up. Theodore created a plan that would seek the government to put in $36 million dollars .
             into the economy. This money would have been spent on public works creating employment in the depression. .
             The Theodore plan was widely criticised as the panic of rising prices. It failed when the senate turned it down and also the commonwealth bank totally rejected it. .
             John Thomas Lang was a labor politician and was one of the most notorious politics ever to be in power. John Lang had been the premier of mew south wales from 1925 through to 1927. Jack's government took out major public welfare reform. The Forty hour week was introduced, a child endowment scheme that paid 50cents a week for each child, pensions for widows and a workers" compensation. In 1931 Jack Lang had the answer to Australia's problems. The Lang plan is the idea of the government cutting spending because then the lower, ordinary working class would have to work a lot harder for same pay.
