The final level which is the "action orientation level and that is a predisposition to act, not the act itself" (Parillo pg 550). This is where individuals harbor feelings towards certain groups of people that affect the way they respond to them. Most people harbor negative feelings towards gays and lesbians which mean they act against them. They way this is done is by excluding them from events, keeping them out of their neighborhoods, not doing business with them and so on. Meaning these people dispose of the gay and lesbian community well before they even get a chance to present themselves.
Authoritarian personality also plays a major role in the prejudices against gays and lesbians in the way of their upbringing from severely harsh parental disciplinethis in turn leads to the type of prejudice that occurs most often towards gays and lesbiansin the United States. This prejudice is called displaced aggression Parrillo says that "highly prejudiced individuals tend to come from families that emphasize obedience" (Parrillo pg 552). thought they were gay they used the "dress like a homo, dance like a homo, must be a homo"(Vasquez pg. 494) thinking. In the story the two men named Brian and Mickey, Brian basically looked like a "homo" and Mickey danced like a "homo" which tells us why they were beaten and in his case practically killed. Parrillo states "one of the major findings were that people who scored high on authoritarianism also consistently showed a high degree of prejudice against all minority groups" (Parrillo pg 552). This means those people that were raised with extremely strict parents who beat them when they were younger are more likely to have a prejudice against minority groups and in this case it's the gay and lesbian community is a minority group compared to the heterosexual population.
