History.
The Indian civilization has been around for over 5,000 years. Historians believe India was discovered by a group of invaders named the Aryan. Through these years India was involved in many wars, creation of many religions and the home to many great leaders in the past. India has been ruled by many empires and now is reconstructing itself to become the powerful country it had been. .
One of the first dramatic things to happen to India was the founding of the Buddhist religion. It was founded in around 500 b.c. Soon after in the fourth century the Gupta to rule of India, they focused upon developing the arts and science. Only 4 centuries later the Muslims (a.k.a. Mughals) and by the 16th century they had taken control of India. They worked on structuring the arts and literature of India. During their reign many of India's greatest buildings were built including the Taj Mahal. After the thrown over of the Mughulian empire India became the wealthiest country in the world. .
Soon after the Portuguese then French, Dutch, Danish, and British tried to take over the India. During the 19th century the British and French were the two European countries to take some control of India. Like many other countries would be they were greedy for more land. The fought for seven years from 1756-1763. .
Under British rule Indians were considered 2nd class; the British made Indian feel like slaves in their own country. Whatever gems, industries, and many other glories of India soon became the British's. In 1858 the British sent their first representative to India her name was Queen Victoria. The British left India high and dry; they turned religion against religion, they made promises that would be broken, sent thousands of Indian men to fight in World War 1 and only about a hundred men returned, they killed Indians of different religions whom talked to one an other and had numerous accounts of massacres.
