             Animal rights has been a hot issue for the past decade, even longer. Whether testing on animals for the sake of humans or putting animals in cruel conditions so we can eventually kill them and eat them has been under debate. Some people agree with it, and others don't. .
             People who are pro animal rights, believe that the mammals are undergoing harsh treatment and shouldn't have to go through it. Some conditions in which they live in are living in dark for 24 hours, being jammed in between two bars so they aren't allowed to rollover or groom themselves, and they live in the stench of their own manure. There has been many laws passed concerning the protection of animals, but very few places abide by them. "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated" .
             --Gandhi, the Moral Basis of Vegetarianism. According to this quote, this is what many people relate to when they think of animal rights. There is no rational basis for saying that a human being has special rights. A rat is a pig is a dog is a boy. They're all mammals. .

             There are many other resources on this planet that we can get our food from, why should we have to kill another form of life to satisfy our needs and wants. .
             Other people argue that the way animals are being treated is over dramatized and humans are the superior race on this planet, and killing animals is what you have to do to survive. The farms and factories you hear about can be bad, but that doesn't mean every factory farm is the same way. There are some places that care for the animals and give them the necessities. There is also something called free range animals, which is where they live where they normally would, and then when they die, they are butchered and sold. "Animals don t think. They don t feel. They don t have emotions.
