Orwell's creative writing style draws you into the book and it's hard to stop reading. I also enjoyed the characters of the book. As the book progresses and the characters as presented to the reader. The Animals have many similarities to important political figures. The book also presents a theme of hypocrisy and inferiority. .
The struggle for domination between Leon Trotsky and Joseph Stalin emerges in the rivalry between the pigs Snowball and Napoleon. In both the historical and story bound cases, the unrealistic but politically less powerful figure (Trotsky and Snowball) is expelled from the revolutionary state by the cruel and aggressive possessor of power (Stalin and Napoleon). Animal Farm is a stinging review of the history and expression of the Russian Revolution. Retelling the story of the appearance and development of Soviet communism in the form of an animal fable. In a sense the pigs are the government of the farm and the other animals are the citizens.
Animal Farm also presents theme of hypocrisy. The pigs create the seven commandments for all the animals on the farm to live by but the pigs break all the commandments that they have created. The commandments and inscribed on the side of the barn. Slowly the Seven Commandments become reduced to a single principle reading, "all animal are equal, but some animals are more equal than others." Meaning that all the animals are equal but the pigs are superior to the other animals. The other animals are all inferior to the pigs. The pigs make the rules and the animals follow them and if not the dogs enforce discipline.
The animals in the book are fairly gullible and easily manipulated. The animals work and work at the common goal of constructing the windmill. The windmill is ultimately to earn the pigs more money and increase their power .the pigs overlook the animal's oppressions. The animals themselves are to manipulated to realize there need for rebellion until the end of the story.
