School Uniforms

            Implementation of Uniforms in Schools.
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines the concept of uniform as; dress of the same style, materials and colour worn by a group. One particular type of group that uniforms are necessary for are students. Uniforms are good for students because they break the economic and social barriers between the students, where no one is any longer discriminated against for wearing less expensive or no-name brand clothes. Uniforms also keep students focused on studies rather than focussing on shoes, or other fashionable accessories, which may distract them from school. Uniforms also make it easy to point out your own students against the many intruders, who may start conflicts or physical confrontations among the students.
Firstly, when uniforms are applied, they break the "high-class" and "low-class" barriers. Students may be picked on or discriminated against due to the apparel they wear, which in some people's opinion may be "cheap" or "ugly". Not all parents are able to financially support their kids when it comes to buying the new Michael Jordan running shoes or the new Nike basketball jerseys, simply because they cannot afford it. However, with uniforms, no one is able to comment on the others clothes, because not only one person is wearing it, but also everyone is. This creates an equal and balanced learning environment for everyone, which is free of prejudice and discrimination.
Secondly, uniforms not only keep students on an equal level of learning, but also keep them on the level of learning. Without uniforms, many kids are easily distracted in class and find themselves looking at what everyone else is wearing and in result, may miss important facts and information presented by the teacher. This can easily be avoided with uniforms that provide the students with the same apparel day-after-day. Students will get bored of looking at each other's uniforms and start to pay more attention towards their studies rather then their peers" clothes.
