The aim of this essay is to give explanation to the description and reasoning behind assessments and interventions strategies, within the framework of the Kerr family caseload. The assessment and plan for intervention will be tailored to meet the need of the primary member I feel most in need - James - therefore creating some form of homeostasis in the household. Due to the escalation of the situation and the crisis state the family are now functioning within, it I imperative they are provided with the necessary resources to meet the needs of it members, in particular James. .
In order for me to undertake this task it was necessary for me to reacquaint myself with the dynamics of the family and research the various forms of strategies suitable to choose the one(s) I feel most suitable to not only the needs of the family but also the strategies that would "work best" in this situation.
The format of the proposal will be an explanation of what an assessment is from which I will formulate my assessment on the family. On completion of this my chosen methods of intervention will be given, with an explanation of my understanding of such strategies. The relevance of each strategy to the family will provide my reflection on the proposal and I as the worker assigned to the caseload.
ASSESSMENT.
Assessment is the coalition of all relevant and appropriate information from which an opinion / formula is created in a controlled and structured manner. The aim of an assessment, once undertaken, should be the alleviation or minimization of the impact created in any given situation with adverse behaviour.
An essential contribution to a high standard of practice offered by any worker is a thorough assessment. This allows for greater insight into the family dynamics and family history, which can only benefit the service user more. As it in turn means a concise and tailored end product from which to begin addressing any areas of concern through intervention.
