The event that took place Tuesday morning has taken away the sense of security I had for our country. When I heard of what happened for the first time I was in my uncle's warehouse assembling mounts. A co-worker rushed in and told Wes my trainer, to put on KYW 1060. I was working with a power drill with the sun shining in the warehouse, it was a nice day with a cool breeze. It was almost ten o?clock when we first heard of this terrible news. I was planning on working until six o?clock then going home to rest and probably go out somewhere later. But I ended up staying home to watch the news.
When I heard what had happened on the radio my initial reaction was that it was a mistake and was done unintentionally. But when I heard of the second plane hitting the south tower I realized that it was an attack. I didn't yell or get upset, I was just in shock of the event because I have never experienced any major acts of war in my lifetime. The co-workers around me had almost the same reaction initially. When I heard of the Pentagon catastrophe I realized that this was one of the worst act of terrorism that the United States has ever faced.
I hope that the United States retaliates in stopping terrorism worldwide, but I don't think that we should bomb or attack Afghanistan or any other countries, because that would be doing an act or terrorism to innocent people in Afghanistan, which would then make the United States no better than the people who took down the World Trade Center. To end my essay I want to say that I think its great how the United States and New York have come together in mourning and helping out in any way they can, it shows the rest of the world that the United Stated are really united.
