Energy Drinks

 

            Energy drinks have become a very popular source for so called energy, especially among kids. They believe that by drinking these energy supplements they will easily gain the necessary boost to perform well in a sporting event or to stay up late to study. But they contain little sugar. They also contain less caffeine then the smallest cup of Starbucks coffee. In reality they only give you a short quick boost of energy. Drinking energy drinks can easily give you stomach pains very easily. Finally, liquid based energy supplements can actually help you gain weight. This is why you can't beat plain old water.
             At sporting events, especially little league, if you notice, many kids will be drinking energy drinks to give them that added boost in performance. These energy drinks have little sugar in them to give that added boost. Most cans of energy supplements say "NO CAFFIENE" on it. Kids would experience better energy boosts by drinking cans of soda. But soda isn't good for them. Water is the best way to fuel there need for hydration along with a well balanced diet that will in turn give you all the necessary energy needed to perform.
             Liquid energy supplements can easily give you stomach pains when performing in athletic events. Since athletes feel satisfied, they will usually not drink water and will not eat or they will eat a lot of food that isn't good for them. Eating solid foods or not having anything at all will cause stomach cramps when this is done too close to an athletic event. Delaying the consumption of water after the beginning or completion of an event has begun increases the risk of stomach cramps. Lastly, drinking too much or a drink with the wrong kind of carbohydrates, which are found in many energy drinks, during an athletic performance will easily give a stomach pains.
             People who use energy supplements will easily gain weight. If these drinks are used improperly, they will make a human body feel satisfied and will lessen the need for exercise and a proper diet.
