Greed and deperation can override anyones intelligence. Usually advertisements contain dead-giveaways that the get-rich-quick scheme is a waste of money. If every paragraph contains a tease that makes you want to read the next paragraph without ever fulfilling the promise of the previous paragraph it is probably of waste of your money. The promoters job is to make the get-rich-quick- scheme a success, it is not to make you a success. Some of the advertisements go on and on for multiple pages and never quite tell you what it is, exactly, that they are selling. Those get-rich-quick schemes don't cut it although we, as dreamers, want to believe those rags-to-riches stories that are all over the internet.
The very essence of a get-rich-quick scheme is emotionalism. The promoter urges the naive, potential buyer to act quickly before the opportunity is missed. This is used by promoters to create a sense of urgency. Claims such as 'Make big money without leaving home' and 'Make money sitting at your kitchen table and in your underwear' are both too good to be true offers. Bery often power words and even more powerful scripts can be woven into a bad idea to make it sound better. Telemarketing scam artists use scripts of emotionally charged statements laid out to play upon a victim's psyche. Most people nowadays choose to avoid telemarketing calls, especially with the threat of identity theft. Instead, people look to the internet for ideas. People look to the internet for information and sometimes they are willing to pay for the right kind of information becuse they can get it faster than reading a book or a magazine. E-books are sold for $99.95 because people carave information, and they want it now rather than later. Incentives are often offered to the 'candidates.' The promoters will sometimes say the value of their product is far greater than the reduced price of x amount and them offfer the discount because they truly want to see other people succeed.
