The most dreaded part of camps by the prisoners was the Appeal or roll call . In this the prisoners were sent out into the cold night after a hard day of work and were lined up . Anyone that fell to the cold ground was shot or gassed. The guards didn't help the prisoners get much rest either . They would beat up prisoners with their fists or guns or anything they could find . (home.swipnet.se/~w-49276/docs/auschwitz/welcome.htm) They would shoot the prisoners for no reason at all and treat them like dirt . Some chores the prisoners had to do were : sort out dead prisoners clothes and shoes , do hard long hours of manual labor , dig graves and bury people in them and even dig their own graves and when they were done digging the guards would shoot them and one more of all the bad work chores was the Sonderkommando .(www.nizkor,org) Doing this chore meant that you burned the bodies of the dead prisoners in the Creamatoria . Tattoos were given to the prisoners on their right arms as an easier way of registration . Not all of the earlier prisoners had these tattoos but the registered number of prisoners that had these tattoos was 405,000 .
The daily routine in the complex differed in each camp . But the basic routine was the same . The basic routine was they woke up at dawn , cleaned their areas , morning roll call wall was taken . They then walked to the work site , worked for long hours , had to wait in lines for food . Then walk back to their bunks . (www.auschwitz.be/index2.htm) Block inspection was then taken and then evening roll call was done . There were also unlucky prisoners that got picked for medical experiments . The best known doctor at Auschwitz was Josef Mangele . His experiments were mostly done on twins and dwarfs . He did lots of things that had to do with seeing how long it would take a person to die if you did this or that to them . He also did experiments that had to do with cutting off body parts and reattaching them to different parts of the body on the prisoners.
