To Resolve Stem Cell Research should be legalized in the United States for the sole purpose of curing diseases.
Ethical Issues: are those that ask us to consider the potential moral outcomes of stem cell technologies.
Social Issues: involve the impact of stem cell technologies on society as a whole.
Benefits:.
Benefits can be overwhelming. Today, millions of people around the world suffer from incurable diseases. Stem cell research would enable the scientific community to possibly come up with a breakthrough in developing a cure.
By observing stem cells develop into mature human tissue, scientists can better understand how such empryos develop, which in turn, would help find ways to cure birth defects.
There are also certain cells known as pluripotent which have to deal with the spinal cord. With the ability to resarch these cells, people like Christopher Reeve's and other paralyzed people may be able to move again.
Nerve cells could also be grown which would give scientists the ability to cure diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. It might not be right away that cures are found, but allowing the research of these cells would greatly increase the chances that someday a cure may be found.
Currently there is little funding from the government. A current poll in ABC News reported that over 60% of Americans support more funding to help.
Conclussion:.
Lives can be saved.
Very little/No money for funding from taxes.
