Emily Dickinson is one of the best poets of all time. She wrote many great pieces that everyone should read. This poem is one of my favorite poems by her and one of my favorite poems of all time. She was a great poet that who tried to observe other people's behaviors and the way they lived. Some say she was attracted to her sister, also her neighbor, but no one really knows because she was so quiet. She may not of have spoken to many people but what she saw she understood and she knew how to write about it.
"Because I could not stop for Death" (quotation marks around names of poems) is about right before you die. She is writing this like her whole life is passing before her. Death has finally come to take her away. All of the good times and bad times are remembered as she heads toward eternal life. All of the beautiful things she has viewed are all being brought back up in her mind. It is just her and the grim reaper who is taking her life and taking her to her new place where she will have eternal life. This poem is very interesting because we always here hear about how your life passes through your mind before you die. That is what I believe this poem is about. Death is a sad thing, but she has lived a good life and she will live an eternal life and it is now her time to go. I have a friend who had just died. She lived a great life and made an effect on many people's lives, but now she is in heaven and is living an eternal life. We do not know how my friend died yet. They are still trying to find out. It was her time and if all of her life had passed through her eyes, she had something wonderful to look at. She had no choice how to die or when she was going to die, it just happened. Many people were affected by this girl. She was very active in her church group and was all about bettering people's life lives through god. She affected the way I think and I am sure she affected more people that just me.
