Seward or Mina can't explain. As a result Dr. Seward sends for his old teacher and mentor, Professor Van Helsing. .
In the meantime Harker, suffering from brain fever, arrives in Buda-Pest, with Mina later arriving. Van Helsing comes to Whitby and orders to have Lucy's chambers covered with flowers, as well as on her neck, after he examines her. However, Lucy isn't informed that it's garlic. For a long time it helps to halt Lucy's illness and helps her to recover, but her mother, unaware of the garlic's power, removes the garlic from her room, which makes Lucy become at high risk of attack. Seward and Van Helsing spend several days to recover Lucy by performing blood transfusions, and leave her home to rest afterwards. That night a wolf breaks into Lucy's house. The shock kills Lucy's mother who lay beside her that night, and the wolf attacks Lucy, killing her. .
After their death Van Helsing, Holmwood, Seward, and Quincey Morris go to Lucy's tomb. Helsing convinces the men that Lucy is "Un-Dead- because she's been transformed into a vampire like Dracula. The men don't believe it until they see Lucy plundering on a child, which leads them to agree that she has to be destroyed. There convinced to a vampire slaying to ensure that Lucy soul will come to an eternal rest. Holmwood strikes a stake through her heart, while the other men stuff her mouth with garlic and cut off her head. After the tasks complete they decide to destroy Dracula. .
Meanwhile, Mina and Jonathan are married and return to England. Mina helps Helsing collect the diary and journal entries that Harker, Seward, and the others have written. After piecing together a narrative that lead them to the Count, Helsing and his group track down the boxes from Dracula's castle. The plan is going well until Dr. Seward's mental patient, Renfield, let's Dracula into the asylum where the others stayed and where he gets a hold of Mina.
