He scored, rebounded, passed, played outstanding defense, and most importantly became one of the most inspirational leaders ever to play the game. Throughout his career he won nine scoring championships, four most valuable players (MVP), and most impressively led the Bulls to six National Basketball League Championships. In 1996 Jordan became the first player ever to win the regular season MVP, the All-Star Game MVP, and the NBA finals MVP. He was also named one of the fifty greatest players in NBA history in 1996. Wow, what a great life one may think. However Jordan's life has not been exactly perfect. .
             In 1993 Michael's father was killed during a robbery. This hurt Michael very much and many think that this incident was the reason for his career change in 1994. In 1994 Jordan retired from the basketball court to try out a diamond. At this time Jordan was right in the middle of his athletic and business career. With the conversion from basketball to baseball came a new sponsor which was Ball Park Frank hot dogs. Jordan wanted a shot at major league baseball. He started out with the Chicago White Sox minor league team. He ended up being exceptionally good in the field, but couldn't make contact at the plate. Then a year later in 1995 he decided to lace up his air Jordan Nikes again and get back to the court. In 1998 he then retired for what we thought would be for good. Then again in 2001 he returned to the basketball court again wearing number 23 but now as a part of the Washington Wizards. It didn't take long for him to decide for the third time to announce another retirement. At the end of the 2002-2003 season, Jordan's outstanding basketball career will end. .
             Jordan off the court has proved to be a marketing force of great power for the products he advertises. First it was Nike, a brand named after the Greek goddess of victory. Nike first went public in 1980. Then later in the 80's is when his business career started, Nike signed Michael Jordan.
