Leveling the playing field makes the game far more interesting. .
On the other hand, there is not much evidence yet that vouchers do a better job of education students than public schools. Vouchers drain tax dollars from public schools and reduce funding for reforms that can improve public schools. In addition, vouchers frequently go to kids who do not need them because the plans direct money to many students who are not prepared or have not been attending public schools (McDonald). .
3). My personal stance on the issue at hand reflects that there is not much being done with the public school systems in urban areas. There are many problems and it continues to seem as if there are few who care. I am in support of the school voucher system because it requires active participation by citizens, both old and young. If there were to be a vote on the issue today, I would definitely have to vote for the voucher system opportunity to people. On a scale of 1 (weakest) - 5 (strongest), my level of commitment to the issue would be a 4, because I do not feel it is the answer, however; it offers more opportunity to those interested. I am not fully committed to the plan because I would fully support a major change in the public school systems without the vouchers, but as of today this is not occurring. We cannot fault children for growing up in a lower socio-economic class. .
4). My personal values that underlie the position in which I take, come from the fact that there is little opportunity for those growing up in schools that do not provide an equal opportunity to those outside of urban areas. I have grown up observing many different school systems in many different cities and surrounding areas. There is a minute chance for many coming from impoverished areas. I find it difficult to agree with many people that those attempting to educate themselves in such environments simply lack motivation.
