Every born again Christian has a Father.
Ps 68:5 says A father of the fatherless and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.
a. So all of us are a part of Father's day.
b. Because we are all a part of the family of God.
1. The family is under a definite attack .
a. Who shall stand and be victorious.
2. The Lord is always searching for righteous and Godly men.
a. The city of Sodom would have been spared for ten righteous men Gen 18.32.
b. But God could not find not one righteous man in Sodom.
3. We ask ourselves: Does a godly man make that much of a difference?.
a. YES- absolutely.
b. And a godly man makes a difference in a family.
4. SOCIETY IS NOT GOING TO TEACH MEN ABOUT THEIR ROLE IN THE HOME.
a. The WORLD'S VIEW is that a man should be a financial provider for his home.
1. But should not be expected to engage in the home life.
b. Some of us may not have had Godly role models.
1. May have come from single parent homes.
2. My have had alcoholic or abusive parents.
c. But now as Christians we have the WORD OF GOD as our model-hallelujah.
5. Fathers are called to be Praying Parent (praying not perfect).
a. In a Christian home without prayer there are no foundations (spiritually).
b. We as parents are called to have faith in God through prayer.
Lamentations 2:19 Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.
John 16:23: Most assuredly I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name He will give you.
James 5:16: The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much .
a. Parenting can be painful.
b. Parenting can be fulfilling and exilerating.
c. Sometimes we sail through smoothly.
1. Sometimes we get so tired we want to just give up and let the storm take us where it will.
