Junoon went to India to release their Azaadi, which people also critisizedThe two videos "Sayonee" & "Yaar bina" started airing on Channel V-INDIA. Just what Junoon targeted for: (1) Azaadi sales begin to increase in Pakistan (2) Junoon was recognized internationally (3) The Junoon which we are used to now was basically born. Junoon was labelled South-Asia's biggest band as-per Indian Channels. .
This shows the mentality of those people who go after commercialism, criticize Indian hype, & then claim to hate Indians and Indian-media. Not to get overboard here but let's face it people, India's Media way more powerful than ours is. Look it the example of Adnan Sami, where he was & where is he now. Personally I think Adnan Sami does not deserve what he has, but he is making a lot more money then Junoon ever had. The reality is if Junoon would have stayed in India they would have been more richer if not famous then they are here as people in Pakistan never intend like to appreciate what they have. Ditto with Strings, Ali Haider, Najam and Haroon. The fact that Adnan Sami stayed in India, he got what he have, the closest some Pakistani got to AS was NFAK. Now please don't give your individualistic comments like "I don't like Indian movies" "Adnan Sami still sucks- / "Why R U involving NFAK, ALI, STRINGS blah blah blah- .
Anyways, let's get back to our topic In 1999 Junoon released another massive album, "Parvaaz" only this time it was with the touch of Sufism (Bulleh-Shah). The album was an achievement it self as Junoon realized the meaning of lyric writing, & in-came the music composer Ali Azmat i.e. "Sajna". This album was a true fusion of Rock & Qawali, what they only tried to do in Azaadi. One of the critic writers exclaimed: "Relax your mind, body, and soul. Rid your entire system if traces of intoxicants exist. In order to capture the true essence of Parvaaz, leave it up to Junoon to intoxicate you with Ghoom, Ronde Ne Naina, Aleph, Bulleya and Mitti.
