On the nights of November 9 and 10, groups of Nazi children roamed through Jewish Neighborhoods breaking windows of Jewish businesses and homes, burning synagogues and looting .Many homes were broken into where Nazi's would trash all their belongings, girls would be raped, and stores would get broken into. Jewish cemeteries, hospitals, schools, and homes were also destroyed, while police and fire brigades stood by. The troopers would also join in on the destruction of homes and torture to the jews. The Nazis hated the Jewish race and would do anything they could to torment them, and make their lives miserable. Even after all of these events took place they still tried to place blame on the Jews by making them pay for the damages brought to the town. Jews were forced to clean out the debris from burned out synagogues which would then be turned into parking lots. The Jews were being forced to clean up their own property from their synagogues so the Germans could turn the property into whatever they wanted it to be. 30,000 Jews were arrested for the crime and sent away to concentration camps, where hundreds of them perished. At the concentration camps they were randomly selected and would get beaten to death, or put into gas chambers to die. There bodies would then be burned into ashes. Business's owned by Jews were not allowed to reopen unless a non-Jew reopened it. Curfews were also placed on Jews limiting the hours of day they could leave their homes. The Jewish children had a very difficult time. They were barred from entering museums, public playgrounds, swimming pools, and expelled from public schooling.
