The book "Animal Farm" by George Orwell was a very strange story about a bunch of animals that ban together under the leadership of two pigs named Napoleon and Snowball to take control of the Manor Farm and eject the humans. The animals, at the beginning of the story, decide that they are tired of being treated like slaves and with the intellect of the pigs, and strength of the other animals they took over the farm. This was accomplished by attacking Mr. Jones one night when he was going to beat them.
The book was entertaining and a little strange. It seemed to me that a recurring them throughout the story was communism. Throughout the story they continuously referred to each other as comrade and citizen. That also explains why Napoleon wanted to have complete control over the farm.
He did this by spreading lies and running Snowball off the farm. .
It was interesting to see some of the views of communism and how cruelly they treat their people or animals but it does make me glad to live in a democracy where the government does not control our investments and the amount of food we have to eat. Where we have the freedom to speak our.

minds without fear of repercussions. That is why I am proud to be an American.
As far as the book itself I liked it until I got to the end the end was so abrupt that it really confused me, but other than that I really enjoyed the book. The plot was well thought out and he put a lot of detail into the book. To me that is what makes a good book when you can read and picture exactly what is happening. He did a lot of that especially when he was talking about how hard Boxer worked at everything he did. So over all I found that the book pretty good and I would recommend it for someone to read even outside of school.
