World war 2

War is just not the answer for trying to resolve a problem. Killing people and waiting to see who last the longest, is all we are doing. In the end, nothing is ever really resolved. I don't feel there is any such thing as a "good war". The closest thing to a "good war" would be when no one was hurt and that is just impossible. World War 2 killed more people, destroyed more property, disrupted more lives than any other war in history. World War 2 might have brought the United States a few benefits but not enough to call it a "good war".
Many people feel that as a result of the war, an increase in technology occurred. If I thought making weapons of mass destruction is something we really need, then I would agree. I don't feel we need weapons of mass destruction because you never know whose going to use them or who has them. It just causes many more problems than we need.
Another reason people feel World War 2 was a "good war" was because we came out on the top after. We came out as being known as a "power house". Being known as a "power house" is not always a good thing. So many countries are going to form hatred for the United States because of this. For example, the terrorism that was going on not too long ago, I feel has to do with the fact that we think we are unstoppable and they"re trying to show us we are not.
Another example of why World War 2 was not the United States" "good war" is because of the Japanese internment. I feel we should be ashamed of what happened. So many Americans were against how the Germans Jews in Germany were being treated that it's very hypocritical the way we treated the Japanese. Though, the Japanese were not treated nearly as bad, they situations are still slightly similar.
These are just a few examples of the detriments of war. I still feel there will never be any such thing as a "good war". Killing people is just in no way or form a good thing and that is all war is.
