There are three types of guidelines in teaching and taking of children until children become adults. Authoritarian, democratic and permissive styles are representative of three types of the guidelines. Of all these, democratic style is the best in that children could have good judgement, strong responsibility, and spirit of independence.
Firstly, children who grow up under democratic parents could think cautiously and judge very reasonably. The democratic parents would give their children some guidelines and observe their children, whenever the children think or act about their problems such as study and other gender or the prospective job. Before or after the children act, the parents are use to discuss how to think or the results. For instance, when a child is in agony about their prospective job, democratic parents can give helps to their son or daughter. When the child wants to be basketball player like Michael Jordan, democratic parents who even don't want the child to be a basketball player would say what the strength and weakness are, but authoritarian parents would say strongly what they want to be. This is just one example and the child can improve his/her a way of thinking while the child is growing up in this manner.
Secondly, the children cannot help having stronger responsibilities than others who have grown with strict or permissive parents. As the children having democratic parents have been taught by their parents what and how they have to respond after they make mistakes or do something wrong as much as possible themselves, the children would have been held responsible for their judgement while they are growing up. For example, when the children want to buy something they need for their study, if the children have little money to buy that, since they spent on buying some game CD titles or food, the democratic parents would give them an opportunity to make money through working, not give them money directly.
