Review of the Clash of Civilizations.

However, it is hard to believe that the traditional culture which distinguishes civilizations, is not changed but remained and strengthened in our lives and consciousness. Additionally, his idea that maintains global increasing regional blocs can only succeed in the category of the same civilized circle, show also a limitation of his argument. The successful operation of ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations) which is managed by Thailand (Buddhism), Philippine (orthodox Roman Catholic), and Indonesia (Muslim), is a good example against Huntington's theory. Moreover, states can be separated in shared civilization and in league with other states in different civilization in order to meet their national interests or profit. According to Ajami, "states controls civilization not civilization controls states." .
             Not economical but cultural?.
It is my hypothesis that the fundamental source of conflict in the new world will not be primarily ideological or primarily economic. The great divisions among human kind-and the dominating source of conflict will be cultural. Nation states will remain the most powerful actors in world affairs, but the principal conflicts of global politics will occur between nations and groups of different civilizations. .
As above, Huntington emphasizes that the cause of conflicts in the contemporary world is cultural diversity neither ideological nor economical concern. From the end of Cold War, it is certain that ideological opposition had ended or declined. However, it is dangerous to ignore the fact that the cause of wars or conflicts are often from economical sources. For instance, the reasons or backgrounds of the conflict between Russia and Chechnya and the war against Iraq were generally understood to be the Great powers" contest of resources - oil. Both areas - Kafka (Chechnya) and the Gulf (Iraq) - hold an abundance of oil reserves and these places always have been the target of Western countries.
