The following letter supports my post graduate application to McGill's Faculty of law. It serves as clarification as to why I have chosen McGill's law program, as well as what I have to offer to McGill and its community. .
Upon researching every law program offered across Canada I found myself intrigued by McGill's Faculty of Law curriculum. The primary advantage I encountered within this program was the inclusion of courses from both common and civil law. Since these are the most extensive and representative systems of law on a global basis, a wider scope of legal insight will be ensured. I believe this to be a more complete and well rounded educational and knowledge granting experience. I also intend to apply under the advanced student standing, which will allow for a faster transition through the program. McGill is a world-renowned institution of higher learning, and there is an evident attraction to a degree that is recognized the world over. The final reason why I believe that McGill is the right choice for me is that it is situated in the heart of Montreal. I have been fortunate enough to visit Montreal, and the McGill campus on a few occasions and I am enthralled with its multicultural community and the bilingual facet of life.
I believe that I have much to offer McGill, the faculty of law, as well as the university community. I am Mexican citizen and since Mexico is a country in constant economical, political and social transformation, I have been raised in a very enriching environment. Law has encompassed me throughout my life since both my father and my brother are lawyers, it is my heart and my minds desire. Having performed within the top 5 percentile throughout my academic career, I have been blessed with a strong work ethic and a dedicated lifestyle. While I deliver myself in every activity that I engage, I have had the opportunity to exert the practice of Civil Law since my first year at the Faculty of Law.
