Return to Myself

When we were asked to write our autobiography, I told myself that this not much of a task so I can do it the night before the submission. But sitting by the computer and staring at the screen without any idea of what to write proved me wrong. This is suppose to be easy since what I"m going to write is about something that is never lost nor forgotten, about me, but then again, for more than ten years that I have been studying, writing was never my cup of tea.
I was born third of the four children of Renato and Carmen Santos, dawn of November 20, year 1985. I was raised and I practically lived all my life here in Manila, which brings sort of frustration to me, because I have always dreamed of living in a province. I finished both elementary and highschool in a public school and by the age of fifteen, I was privileged to study at the University of the Philippines in Diliman to pursue a Computer Science course, under the Dep. Of Science & Technology scholarship. Others may think that this is a reason to rejoice, and maybe in some other case it really is, but not me. I never believed that I can do good in this course. Yes, I was thrilled that I was able to pass the UP exam, but I cannot see myself pursuing a life in the programming field. My parents believed otherwise so I accepted the challenge. But like what the old saying says, kung "di ukol, "di bubukol. I failed some class and to make the story short, now I"m in a course that I've always wanted. I am now a Sports Science student. I love dancing, I love sports, and PE was my favorite subject back in highschool and I've always wanted to be an orthopedic surgeon and this is the closest course that can give all that to me. .
I used to take my life for granted. I even used to describe myself in autograph books as a happy-go-lucky person. I deal with all things, even schoolwork and problems, big or small, with a simple utter of "bahala na".
