Being a fashion merchandising major, transferring to law school was definitely an unpredictable move. In fact, one could even consider it to be a somewhat shallow decision since it was made in haste. Becoming a layer was not Elle's original career choice. However, as the story unfolds, Elle finds out that law school is actually a place where she belongs, despite the harsh and rocky beginning. Harvard provided her with a venue for experimentation. She was allowed to further explore and develop her values, her personality, and intellectual capacity. It also gave her the chance to meet lots of new people that would eventually make her more mature, more confident, stronger and smarter. .
