Once White left turmoil broke out, everyone was all over each other in a frenzy to get food for their own survival. A couple people tried to stop the frenzy, but it was too late. After the fight there were no more children, just 5 women and 27 men. They decided they were to travel with the rest of the supplies most of them damaged from the frenzy. They wrote the name of the place they planned to go to. They thought for a moment wondering if they should stay and wait for White. Then they began their journey. They spent 2 ½ years wandering the island in circles killing the occasional animal for food. They had no compass to lead them and were not educated enough to know to make landmarks. They simply wandered around trying to survive.
A month before White got back another disaster broke out; there were bears, a dozen at least. They were poised to strike ready for battle. The group of stragglers happened to come by a baby bear and tried to confront it. It turned out that it had a family a very big family. They held out for a while using the spears they crafted from rock for tips and wood for the staff. They never had a chance. You know the saying never come between a mother and her child, well they learned that the hard way.
When White came back he didn't bother searching the island (Even if he did there was nothing left of the bodies to be found.). Instead he looked at the carving in the tree and understood immediately that they had left. He never saw them again because their was nothing left to be seen.
