Canada's Government should maintain supporting the availability of social programs to all citizens of society, by increasing the proportion of salaries that is given to income tax. On this particular issue an individual could highly disagree with these circumstances, because they feel they should not have to shell out for people's needs that are made redundant and choose to stay there. On the other hand a person with no financial or medical needs may look on the positive side of this situation and may see it as helping someone in need who needs medical or financial help. However, I do believe that Canada should continue to support the universality of social programs even if it means having to increase our income tax by a few dollars. Our nation can no longer meet the expense of the wide social safety net we have come to rely on. Everyone should be treated equivalent regardless of his or her financial state, and should have access to all of the same advantages, thus increasing ambition to pay the extra money for these benefits. As a country, our citizens cannot always turn to the public purse for help. Our country is sturdy and its people shall assist in order to keep it that way. .
The citizens of our country have to stop being so self-seeking and start thinking of the less fortunate people out there who are in need and are not financially stable. The thought that it isn't always easy to find a job if you are blind, disabled (mentally or physically), or have been in a terrible accident. The best job they might be able to do is the bare minimum wage jobs in which there is no advancement or opportunities to work towards in order to increase their standard or living. These social programs give less fortunate people a chance to meet some of their needs. By increasing our income tax by a few dollars makes this promising. Our country has been practicing this role of equal opportunity for many years, and should be continued throughout time.
